Across 2025, hundreds of releases surfaced, with December granted space to settle. From that sweep emerged a carefully shaped collection of favorites, each paired with links to Igloo reviews and release pages. Arrangement follows artist names in alphabetical order, while a snapshot of tracks lives on our Soundcloud playlist, joined by random artwork highlights. No crowns, no rankings, no runners-up—only records that resonated.
Twenty-five years, still listening
Built to explore the edges—where sound, culture, and experimentation collide—Igloo Magazine pushed those boundaries further than ever in 2025, while also creating space to look back. Marking our 25th anniversary, reflection became inseparable from discovery.
Every year asks something different of us. 2025 asked us to listen.
This was a year of overwhelming abundance in experimental electronic music. Scenes multiplied, formats blurred, and releases arrived faster than they could be absorbed. The challenge wasn’t finding inspiration—it was finding the time to fully digest it. 2025 reminded us that the music is always ahead of us, moving faster than any attempt to document it.
This Best of is not a definitive record, but a snapshot shaped by decades of listening and a single year that offered more than could ever be captured. While countless releases couldn’t fit within these pages, we look forward to discovering more from 2025—some of which may still find their way here.
