Two originals, three remixes, five cuts of finely engineered funk. Interdimensional Warlock takes familiar electro ingredients, wires them to a dirty great bassline and sets the whole lot loose after dark. Get your stank face on.

Interdimensional Warlock (aka Los Angeles-baed Scott Findley) drops a wicked five-tracker that sidesteps the tired electro tropes doing the rounds elsewhere. The ingredients might be familiar, but the sound design and funktopian execution are anything but. This is electro with serious stank on it.

First up, the original mix of “Castlevania Vibes” sets the tone. Forget dark; this is just plain naaasty. Low-slung funk and stank-face grooves provide the foundations, while archetypal electro bodywork, arpeggios, white-noise sweeps, filters and resonance drive a fifteen-stage progression of aural and developmental excitement. Each shift adds another twist to the circuitry, keeping the sound in motion without ever losing sight of its physical foundations. The groove stays locked, the tension keeps building, and the bodywork never lets up. Sick.

b0t23 takes “Castlevania Vibes” apart and puts it back together with a spattering of tek-funk dreamweavery. Twitching robotic details, tiny electronic picks and axes, and taut, tensile bass thumps give the track a fresh mechanical swagger. Less a simple remix than a full-on rewire, it’s frankly sensational. IXIANS delivers the third cut, taking “Castlevania Vibes” into vast, concrete-clad territory. The mood hardens into almost EBM abrasion, with cavernous reverb and swathes of metropolitan grandeur lending the track a towering, industrial menace. Massive in its attack.

“Wizard Juice” brings the fourth cut’s own brand of mischief, popping and locking around fat, elastic funk that feels like an instrument in its own right. It swings and snaps with unapologetic purpose, bringing a fresh flavour to the release without losing its electro bite. For the fifth and final cut, IXIANS returns to wrench “Wizard Juice” into a tearing slab of heavyweight science, all muscular pressure and sharpened sonic angles. Big, bold and banging.
