Teleself :: Eternal Game EP (Appendix.files)

A brief, quietly impacting EP with a heartbeat that makes us feel at ease on these chilly winter days.

Eternal Game (by Jordan Nason aka Teleself) is available for streaming and limited-edition lathe-cut vinyl on Appendix.files—a Berlin-based sonic-experimental label propelled by an eco-conscious purpose—in early February 2025. “Enigmadub,” a saturated dub-infused behemoth, opens this batch of downtempo glitch-hop and flowing tracks, while “everything ft. Alona” explores ambient-glitch veils and brittle vocal strands accented by micro-beats and rhythmic fluctuations that fully encapsulate us. The title track takes us back a couple of decades where smoothened electronics and trip-hop elements shift into the margins and an emotive surplus of activity feels activated.

While closing pieces “all around you” and “fireworks in the garden of Eden” traverse contemplative ambient soundtrack-inspired nostalgia that fans of The Detroit Escalator Company and port-royal would easily consume with their eyes closed, “cartilage” feels like a long-lost Autechre artifact somewhere in between Tri Repetae and Amber, where soft ambient-industrial electronic pulses flicker with hypnotic flurries. A brief, quietly impacting EP with a heartbeat that makes us feel at ease on these chilly winter days.
