Across 2025, hundreds of releases surfaced, with December granted space to settle. From that sweep emerged a carefully shaped collection of favorites, each paired with links to Igloo reviews and release pages. Arrangement follows artist names in alphabetical order, while a snapshot of tracks lives on our Soundcloud playlist, joined by random artwork highlights. No crowns, no rankings, no runners-up—only records that resonated.
Rontronik’s taste for noisy textures and atmospheric shines on Zero Nine. Although in terms of composition, the album runs smoothly, its production is solid enough to demonstrate a good sense of timbre, and the sound palette he chooses to highlight is astounding.
It’s almost as though we’re trapped in an extended dreamlike sequence surrounded by hundreds of found sounds, kaleidoscope visuals, and instrumental tones and pulses, complete with shuffled vocal samples, downtempo lounge excursions, and glitchy hip-hop slicing layers.
Zero Eight pulls off a rather satisfying mix of noise, ambient, and experimental electronica. The way the record is constantly shifting into new ideas makes it really engaging from front to back, but so does its claustrophobic atmosphere.
