Mount Analogue is a landmark work from a master artist in tribute to the great chain of influence that goes from one seeker to another, from one artist to another. I consider it another essential clue in my own quest for discovering an applying obscure knowledge.
Across 2025, hundreds of releases surfaced, with December granted space to settle. From that sweep emerged a carefully shaped collection of favorites, each paired with links to Igloo reviews and release pages. Arrangement follows artist names in alphabetical order, while a snapshot of tracks lives on our Soundcloud playlist, joined by random artwork highlights. No crowns, no rankings, no runners-up—only records that resonated.
Ikue Mori’s Of Ghosts and Goblins transforms the ghostly folklore of Lafcadio Hearn into a mesmerizing electronic séance—an album where myth, memory, and machine intertwine. Using her OP-1 as a spirit catcher, Mori conjures a world of shimmering sprites, fractured rhythms, and spectral beauty that feels both ancient and futuristic.
Through multiple evolutions along decades, with a refined combination of harmonies, a deep sense of space, a phenomenology of time and bright sonic manipulations based on acoustic timbres, Japanese artists invite the listener to enlightened and intuitive inner promenades.
