From that sweep emerged a carefully shaped collection of favorites, each paired with links to Igloo reviews and release pages. Arrangement follows artist names in alphabetical order, while a snapshot of tracks lives on our Soundcloud playlist, joined by random artwork highlights. No crowns, no rankings, no runners-up—only records that resonated.
French sound artist and audio collage sculptor yyate (aka Vincent Caylet) crafts Société oblique as a delicate collision of noise and ambient haze, weaving field recordings, fractured electronics, and ephemeral textures into hypnotic drift. Released on Perceptual Tapes, the album hovers between abstraction and intimacy, where microscopic sonic gestures and dissolving tones evoke both fragility and quiet transcendence.
Portuguese artist Swoop and Cross (Ruben do Vale) offers a haunting, minimalist meditation on memory and fragility with On the Grounds of Indecency. Blending piano, ambient textures, and field recordings, the album unfolds slowly, inviting deep reflection through its quiet beauty and restraint.
These two works showcase the range and ambition of Perceptual Tapes. Hyperliquid journeys inward, guided by memory, solitude, and stillness; Among Lunar Glaciers voyages outward, imagining alien topographies in shimmering, distorted detail.
