Across 2025, hundreds of releases surfaced, with December granted space to settle. From that sweep emerged a carefully shaped collection of favorites, each paired with links to Igloo reviews and release pages. Arrangement follows artist names in alphabetical order, while a snapshot of tracks lives on our Soundcloud playlist, joined by random artwork highlights. No crowns, no rankings, no runners-up—only records that resonated.
Baby, It’s Cold Outside may be seen alongside other KeplarRev reclaims (e.g. optimal lp, Herbstlaub) as unearthed ambient-electronica treasure, or a cold case re-warmed by fresh investigation; and what still distinguishes it 15+ years on is that it not only raises the ghost in the machine, but elevates it above.

A quarter of a century on from optimal.lp’s release, then, its timelessness is still palpable, even enhanced, with the reissue’s addition of three tracks made while working on it, plus a new take on the closing “Tank” (digital only): in prepping the reissue, running one of the masters through a customized reverb unit, he began recording the outcome of this haptic past-inside-the-present dialog.
