Experimental Electronic Music
These musical works are a good antidote to the all too prevalent use of insecticide in our world. Even science fiction books, where the thinking one could hope, would be expansive and kindly towards other forms of life, has alien enemies represented as “buggers” like in Ender’s Game or all the invasion of bugs happening across the galaxy in Starship Troopers.
Across 2025, hundreds of releases surfaced, with December granted space to settle. From that sweep emerged a carefully shaped collection of favorites, each paired with links to Igloo reviews and release pages. Arrangement follows artist names in alphabetical order, while a snapshot of tracks lives on our Soundcloud playlist, joined by random artwork highlights. No crowns, no rankings, no runners-up—only records that resonated.
Through white noise, thorough in its separation and diffraction of constituent tones, before reprocessing them and sending them back out into an abyss of stars as if these horns are calling to some alien entity or god far beyond the reaches of our usual means of communication.
As with every trip into outer and inner places, there is much to ruminate on here after the return home. Further sessions haven’t proved to exhaust what is opened up here, but have only served to expose the many doors along the cobwebbed corridor where one can be drawn into further phantasmal realms.
The bell has sounded and the sharp attack of that first clang belies the long decay as it drifts across time.
