Micrometeoritic Flowerpot charts multiple routes, showcasing its raw, boundary-pushing electronic constructions in a whirlwind of imaginative soundscapes.
A fusion of Belgian precision and Spanish flair
Micrometeoritic Flowerpot marks the debut collaborative album between Belgian sound artist Cedric Wattergniaux, known for his work as Kilmarth, and Jordi Saludes, the creative force behind D-Fried from Barcelona. This groundbreaking project blends their distinct sonic worlds into a unique auditory journey, where atmospheric textures and experimental soundscapes come together in a fusion of Belgian precision and Spanish flair.
Opening with splintered beats and shifting sonic textures, the aptly named “fractured echoes” embarks on a voyage through space with an emotional intensity that’s second to none. Darker undertones creep into this eight-part amalgamation, with “alltagsmusik” weaving ambient, ethereal electronics and intricate instrumentals into a mesmerizing tapestry. Meanwhile, the title track unleashes cinematic motifs and jagged breakbeats, sending them soaring into the unknown. “we will deal with it” takes a more subdued approach, blending thick layers of electronics with pulsating drums, while drifting vocals add an atmospheric touch. Closing out with “palmyre,” the album plunges into a storm of gritty, mechanical rhythms that devastate the sonic landscape.
