The Owl offers expansive drone tones to keep us curious on this strangely fascinating journey.
A kaleidoscope of stretched sonic vistas
The Owl delivers a three-piece suite on Earth Drone, and the predominately ambient/drone non-profit micro-label Adventurous Music continues to cultivate experimental sound worlds. Over the course of over 60 minutes, three compositions with extended sound patterns ebb and flow through light and darkness. “Sunrise” opens with its kaleidoscope of stretched sonic vistas and eerie corridors while “Magmatrip” follows a lighter flow through which an ethereal electrical pulse starts to spread and engulf the surroundings with its mesmerizing synthesizer buzz.
The Owl offers expansive drone tones to keep us curious on this strangely fascinating journey, while the final time capsule “Waves Into Flight” strikes a balance between sci-fi soundtracks and unexplored dystopian planets. Providing incredibly impactful and adventurous dark-ambient layers to unfurl—whether or not these are in fact earth drones—this release is a soundtrack to the Earth’s rebirth on the Winter Solstice, the shortest day of the year.
