Manuel Carbone :: Coral Melodies (Adventurous Music)

A seriously clustered musique concrète two-tracker that packs enough mysteries as a full-length collection.

Barely audible, and shifting in the darkness.

Almost completely silent, subtle tones drift many miles away, slowly inching their way through the mist and perhaps deep underwater where coral can be found swaying with oceanic currents. Found sounds, tape loops, and humming synthesizers remain blurry, as if to gently call upon our senses and fade into oblivion. Delivered in two compositions, “Coral Melody I”and “Coral Melody II,”  both submerge their strange sounds, barely audible, and shifting in the darkness. There’s an eerie soundscape surrounding the first iteration, its electrical murmur buzzing and overlapping itself as the second piece contains an overflowing sonic chasm maneuvering larger slabs of ambient noise and droning shadows; still just as baffling and intoxicating as the label is known to cultivate from its roster. A seriously clustered musique concrète two-tracker that packs enough mysteries as a full-length collection.
