Dystopiker and Nyppy :: Die Tücke des Objekts (Adventurous Music)

Drawing us in with its distant signals and moving shadows that intensify, these eight mysterious and adventurous pieces provide a hypnotic flow that permeates and pulls us through delaminated ambient shapes.

Calm buzzing noises traverse microscopic blips and bleeps

Loosely translated to “malice of the inanimate,” Dystopiker and Nyppy create vast sound vistas on this concept album. At once dark and brooding, electronic circuits are bent and reformed to encapsulate raw drones and textured tones, captivating the listener as “humanity becomes increasingly dependent on man-made items, gadgets, structures and algorithms.” Ripping apart soundscapes that are rhythmically aligned, Die Tücke des Objekts includes a 46-page booklet with images by Dystopiker & Nyppy. Densely packed with ethereal moods, darkness prevails but does not necessarily haunt the listener. Instead, carefully woven synths and calm buzzing noises traverse microscopic blips and bleeps.

Drawing us in with its distant signals and moving shadows that intensify, these eight mysterious and adventurous pieces provide a hypnotic flow that permeates and pulls us through delaminated ambient shapes. “Like a bunch of electronic devices conspiring to malfunction simultaneously during an important event,” these ambient industrial artifacts are simply unyielding.
