Landscape 07 unfolds in breaths: slow waves advance, overlap, recede and return in subtly altered forms. The movement is continuous, yet it can escape a distracted listener. You need to stop, allow the piece to find its own pace and follow its changes as you might follow shadows moving across a field.
Visible Light did not try to produce an exact sonic replica of El Yunque, but rather focused on the aspects that impacted the musicians the most, just as a landscape painter can highlight aspects of a landscape that a straightforward photo cannot communicate as well.
Even as the music voyages across the celestial empyrean of space, he opens up new territory, diving downwards into the underworld where the mysteries of Orpheus (poet, musician, prophet) are encountered in their cavernous depths. Here the Orphic lyre is a synthesizer. Here it is a collection of psychotronic modules who route electricity to the point where it tingles with lucid scintillation. Empty Halls is a longer meditation, generating a haunting atmosphere that invites the listener to become lost inside its unfolding darkness. In this way, it can also provide peace and comfort in the darkness of wintertime.
By the end I feel a shimmering effervescence, like the details of the sunlit landscape slowly dissolving into purple twilight, only to reemerge in new forms dimly sketched in the shapes of the twinkling constellations.
Maps and Diagrams’ music drifts like sunlight through a forest canopy, slow, dreamy, and richly layered with acoustic textures that evoke the spirit of each tree it’s named after, from oak to cedar, inviting the listener to float, ponder, and perhaps even dream alongside the trees themselves.

Terrarum Murmur is a collaboration between Japanese composer Hideki Umezawa and Italian electroacoustic artist Giuseppe Cordaro, born of a shared residency on the volcanic island of Stromboli in 2023. Blending field recordings, modular synthesis, and deep listening, the work captures the subtle vibrations of geological time. Far from spectacle, it invites us to hear the earth as a quiet, continuous presence—shaped by patience, precision, and a deep respect for sound as both material and method.
