Poborsk succinctly produces an impactful release that only seeks to compliment Point Source Electronic Arts‘ already creative audio-visual community.

As Patrice Curtillat (also known as the multi-talented Marseille, France-based Poborsk) creates distinctive ambient-industrial filaments on Headset and Settings, saturated synth-scraping fibers shift without interruption. Though it’s not totally cluttered and caustic, the album generates a bewildering assortment of corroded noise and glitch, with sleek soundscapes moving across darker strands as peaks and valleys are smoothed out instead. The tribal-infused vocal mutation of “Nebki,” as well as “Gastric Rendition of Time” and “Prosat Bounce,” keep this visceral bundle locked in with silk-infused rhythmic entanglements that we’re hypnotized by. And although “Skram Delay” and “Vitrol Kit”—with its time-stretched voices—maintain powerful slow motion sequences and deeply processed granular signals, Poborsk succinctly produces an impactful release that only seeks to compliment Point Source Electronic Arts‘ already creative audio-visual community.
