Sadness Defines Your Happiness was released in November, 2022 and I included it in my top releases of 2022. For some reason though, I didn’t get around to reviewing it, which was a bit of a shame, as it’s very emotional and dynamic deep ambient music on one of the premier ambient labels: Neotantra. Ran by the legendary Lee Norris of Norken, Metamatics and Autumn of Communion to name a few. Quite simply, this is beautiful ambient music. Sweeping soundscapes, deep immersive drones, gentle melodic phrases, and soaring harmonics make it a real joy to listen to. It’s ambient music in the purest sense. There’s no need for fashionable production tricks. “No Need to Play Dead” is magnificent.
