This is the third such outing for Sunroof who let the solar power flood in over their heads to illuminate the punching of buttons and the twisting of knobs, the free flow of corded creativity, wires in a maze of amazement.
A synthesis of disparate waveforms
Daniel Miller, the Founder and Chairman of Mute, and Gareth Jones, producer and engineer, notable for working with Depeche Mode, Einstürzende Neubauten, Erasure and Yann Tiersen, have been collaborating for four decades. Although neither dwell on their past work, preferring to constantly explore new ways to create, Miller and Mute’s legacy is given a nod on the track “Splendid” from their new album Electronic Music Improvisations Vol. 3, which opens with the distinct hiss of cassette over a rhythmic heartbeat before oscillators burst and collide. This track was recorded using the original 4-track TEAC that Miller picked up second hand in the late 70s and recorded The Normal’s “Warm Leatherette” 7” on. ~Mute Rexords
Poem by Justin Patrick Moore.
Cybernetic silicon life-forms are evolving through voltage-controlled pattern generators when plugged into pulse systems. Oscillating rhythmic machines fabricating song lines in dream time.
Electric origami folds sonic poetry into liquid haikus of the moment.
Modules become vignettes when patched across creating new out of phase speculations on the nature of collaboration. Human. Machine. Machine. Human.
Creating interesting systems of dynamic modulation. Creating setups of endless interaction through generative bifurcation.
This is the third such outing for Sunroof who let the solar power flood in over their heads to illuminate the punching of buttons and the twisting of knobs, the free flow of corded creativity, wires in a maze of amazement.
Unplanned electronic jazz through an array of effects. The signal transformed on its way to the mixing board.
Tweakers tweaking tweeters on the speakers. Bleepers bleeping boom bap cadence of kosmic krautiness with bass rumbles in subwoofers. Nothing to bark about.
It’s a synthesis of disparate waveforms. Neurons scintillate in this sound bath of majestic braindance, now firing on all cylinders alive to the flow of electrons or coffee.
Tuned into wave shaping. Electric navigators are searching for the starry dynamo of existence, or at least making sounds that modulate us as much as they modulate the sounds themselves. We are modulated by modulators.
Collaborative effort. Duo of dynamism. Chirping birds reflectively pinged. Under their wing. High and rising through digital analog heavens.
Strange purgatory of progressive permutations. Ever changing.
Morse code of signal chains skitter through kaleidoscopic effect processing. Music that is plugged in, turned on. Pray for no power outage.
A meeting of minds through musical meditation. Set up systems exchange. Flow line of sound events keeps on pulsating. Liquid energy flows and floats, forms from the formless.
Swirling lines of code sink into my consciousness, now translated as music. Melting. Mathematical precision of exquisite corpse beauty. Two painters, one picture.
Put this one on, and let the sun come in.
