An evening of Experimental Music at DSGN CLLCTV
The back room of DSGN CLLCTV hosted an evening of electronic, noise, and left field music. Some of those on the bill were old friends and familiar faces from Cincinnati’s stalwart scene of experimentalists, while two of the other acts stopped by on their respective tours, to make for a memorable night.
A_A :: Diskordant (Artificial Owl Recordings)
Diskordant is a live, improvisational minimal extrusion from below the surface that ebbs and flows with a sense of aural wonder—its thick textures and tones are the core elements.

Sontag Shogun shares “The Tightrope Session” — a live performance recorded in an industrial lighting design warehouse in Brooklyn.
Thedi :: Live at FSK-HH (Adventurous Music)
Especially notable are occasional bursts of crisp, digital static. I enjoyed imagining that the performance was a kind of industrial construction itself—as though I was hearing music while looking at its naked guts.
Ian Boddy :: Modulations III (DiN)
Essentially, three albums’ worth of extraterrestrial audio works, Modulations III encapsulates improvised movements with large-scale atmospheric rhythms.
Mantle of Gets :: Porto D311022D5810 (Uchelfa)
Building up and breaking down, the recording slowly melts in front of our eyes, its magnetic pulse and downtempo distortion is utterly sublime.

This recording, with all its dust, debris, and dense sound sculptures, dives straight through the magnetosphere and doesn’t hold back.
