Keef Baker :: K (Self Released)
Keef has the music production comprehension on how to make his tunes reflect old-school references we love without trying to emulate the 90’s sound as if the album was made back then. His music sounds fresh and up-to-date in such a way that could even remodel some of our recollections.
Stefan Vincent :: Post Melancholy (Musar)
These eight tracks, ranging from the mid-90s IDM boom to today’s high-level production qualities, use lost time capsules and sophisticated synth-techno fissures to create detailed sonic shadows and throbbing breaks, bass, and broken beats.
Pentagrams Of Discordia :: Teleportation to Gliese12b (Sounds Of Discordia)
Fluttering beats dissolve within ambient ice sheets, blurred samples, found sounds, and expressive atmospheric shadows that lurk in the background, encapsulating the entire cosmos in a drifting musical mashup.
Fallen :: Fragments (Móatún 7)
Fragments is a very nice loop-based, drifty ambient album. Some classical sounds appear, such as guitar and piano, and they often evoke very traditionally human themes. The release is well mixed and mastered, and concern was clearly given to each composition.
James Murray :: Weeds (quiet details)
Welcomed by the superb quiet details label—responsible for classics in sculpted minimalist and lush dronescapes—Weeds is an other captivating, perfectly executed, and subtly moving, serene, granular sound experience for day-dreaming and serious meditative inner levitations affected by lonesome souls.
Tescon Pol :: The Longer Morrow (Concrete Collage)
The duo’s exceptional ability to create gritty compositions, minuscule glitch shapes, and abstract vocal data streams, all coalesce in The Longer Morrow, a potent auditory collection.
2view :: Tapes and Topographies :: Plumage (Lontano Series) & Rudiments (Simulacra)
A collection of cameos rendered in feathery tones and dusty pitches by Todd Gautreau aka Tapes and Topographies, Plumage’s sonorities, languorously looping and limned in treated effluvia, point to timbral and spatial elements as its primary zone of sonic inquiry.
Craig Padilla & Zero Ohms :: To Sleep On Stellar Winds (Spotted Peccary Music)
To Sleep On Stellar Winds is an epic space music album with Berlin-school influences that feature unique blends of modular synthesizers and wind instruments, to carry all listeners floating along the cosmic breezes to the outer edges of the universe, and beyond.
