Some may have given up dreaming, but not me—and three years later I’m more than happy to say that the patience paid off. Henry & Gerald take their rightful place in the studio and with an apparent love of Welsh mountains unleash Twmpa upon us. It’s the perfect mix and balance of classic Yimino and fresh new ideas that one might not have expected from the pair.

Characterized as “10 tracks of technoblues,” Oizys, the album, follows very much in the vein of the previous Shrapnel, a lowlight minimal variant redolent of some early ’00s Berlin-inflected dub-tech/tech-dub releases.

This 1994 album transcended expectations and opinions when it was first released, thirty years on it is still doing so. A fitting homage being paid to an artist who was utterly unique in his approach, a beautiful reissue of a milestone of electronic music.

Belong’s return with Realistix IX is quite a success. They improve significantly on where they had left off and also make use of their noisy aesthetics, combining the two into a satisfying sonic collection.
Maes Y Circles :: Maes Y Circles (GOTO)
Maes Y Circles’ self-titled album is a solid work with some great tracks. Audio technology is showcased, but because the sounds are of a vintage quality hearkening back to musicians such as Tangerine Dream and Vangelis.
BUNKR :: Antenne (VLSI)
Antenne effortlessly maps a new direction for saccharine synth-infused electronica while feeling like a call to the nostalgia and perplexing soundscapes from a few decades ago.
