Experimental Electronic Music
In July 2024 the seminal Schematic label released the Brooklyn-based artist’s 12-track album called Density of Traction, a complex piece of art, rich in detail and far from following any common music patterns, which Autechre and Gescom lovers should listen to.
Produced by Anders Ilar in 2015 while in Estonia, Tallinn Acid Tracks is out now via Acid Lathe—an experimental sub-label of Yard Rec—on a limited edition 4-track clear square 8” vinyl made individually on a lathe cutting machine.
On a first listen, one can recognize distinctive aesthetic elements of Autechre and Plaid. But the deeper you go, the more you assimilate the rich and complex array of sounds and rhythmic deconstruction that rarely follow a pattern.
Both artists transcend mere nostalgia as they not only use sampling as an important part of their creative process but also structure their tracks on original synth lines and beat making that bring freshness to the production.
The 5-track release entitled Faith brings deep peace and beauty in the form of music, which the listener can easily relate to film scores as a rich set of scene imagery comes to mind automatically.
Presenting an array of emotive tunes that show how delicate and sensible Mike Paradinas’ way of composing music, which not only emanates positive and rather light approaches in music expression, but makes a statement on how electronic music can be graceful and yet intriguing.
