Julien Guillot :: Pink Snow (Concrete Collage)
This album is also some sort of a tribute to everything non-linear and unpredictable in the audio world, such as analogue circuits, tubes, spring reverb, tapes, all those things that made those pieces sound as they sound.
Yellow Salamand’r :: The Best Of Yellow Salamand’r (Self Released)
Foraging through massive amounts of data and reconstituting them into byte-size recordings that have sporadic start and end points, The Best Of Yellow Yellow Salamand’r is a perplexing and dense assortment worth diving into head-first to unravel its mysterious trip.
Fractalyst :: Watchtower (Cryo Chamber)
This is theater, this is a type of dark story told by sound and I want to go back. There is something behind me now.
Fetcho :: Fetcho (Schematic Music Co.)
This one slipped by our radar earlier this year (May 2022)—Fetcho (aka Brandon Knocke) delivers a wide range of sonic delights and we’re back on track with his self-titled on Schematic Music Company. Busting through in-your-face electronics and polished braindance elements…
Philippe Petit :: A Reassuring Elsewhere, Chapter 1 (Oscillations)
The signal feeds into the synthesizers, transforming the sounds—bubbling, oscillating, bursting; and it all clearly demonstrates those ideas from musique concrète.
exm :: pas de point EP (Self Released)
Found sounds, field recordings, and sputtering beat patches evolve and eventually break down as loosened melodic strands bend and twist.
subtractiveLAD :: Wreckage (Self Released)
It’s an evocative work with broad, expansive gestures, downshifts that resonate in the bellows of a planet, and soaring updrafts. The subtractiveLAD must flow! Stop […]
Dragon :: From silence, impermeable space EP (Ryu)
From silence, impermeable space EP transitions, and fades away as if nothing ever happened. As if these peculiar disheveled electrical bits were perhaps a mirage; that once we’ve wiped our eyes to see better, only vanishes into thin air.
Christopher Lombardo :: Cephalgian EP (Defunkt)
The industrial onslaught and torn dark-ambient noises all seem to coalesce, as if to migrate from some arcane machinery.
Terminal 11 :: The Heaviness Of Hovering EP (Satellite Era)
The Heaviness Of Hovering is a baffling five-piece suite that smashes braindance, IDM, and glitchy electronics into one massive behemoth.
