TÆT :: Serpent Bearer (Errorgrid)

A tried-and-true collection of mechanical sound structures, fidgeting synth workouts, and blissful melodic strands submerged in tightly threaded beat patches settled on a solid foundation.

Imploding sonic glitches and tangled industrial bleeps

Microscopic audio bursts and byte size elements infiltrate Serpent Bearer, an album of imploding sonic glitches and tangled industrial bleeps carved out by modular maestro TÆT. Harsher slabs (“South Point Blues”) to lighter transitions (“Coins for the Ghost”) allow TÆT to expand and contract complex electronics into seamless audible art forms. And yet, it’s in those darker, grittier moments that we find Serpent Bearer chisel away on tracks like “Back Beams Flying” and “Mirrors for Luna” as they exhaust enough momentum to keep the album in constant motion. A tried-and-true collection of mechanical sound structures, fidgeting synth workouts, and blissful melodic strands submerged in tightly threaded beat patches settled on a solid foundation. You can’t go wrong here.
