Dollarstore Keyboard :: Discgarden (Self Released)

Dollarstore Keyboard’s ability to craft delicately disjointed electronics (and this time bringing some friends over to play) is always baffling and engaging.

Erratic braindance and blips’n bleeps galore

I am consistently drawn to Dollarstore Keyboard’s unique electronic morsels, DIY style breaks, skittering electronic mayhem, and fresh soundscapes pulling from a seemingly vast library. Discgarden features five original tracks and seven remixes that break the usual IDM mold. Full of vibrant drill’n bass frequency bursts, erratic braindance, and blips’n bleeps galore, there’s an innocence about this release that is firmly rooted in rudimentary melodies that transform into blissful structures. Remix support pulls Discgarden through multiple sonic shades from hazy rave daze to breakbeat funk, downtempo fizz-fuzz and rhythmic late 90s-era IDM with a definitive crunch. Dollarstore Keyboard’s ability to craft delicately disjointed electronics (and this time bringing some friends over to play) is always baffling and engaging.
