Alva Recek :: Soma EP (Woodwork)

An absolutely outstanding atmosphere of electro sophistication.

Electro sophistication

Alva Recek delivers an EP that is both unique and impeccably produced for Vancouver-based Woodwork Recordings. On first listen, the introductory track (“Soma White”) has me completely awestruck. Aside from complementing the beat-driven electronica, the knockout synths also allure you even further into a proper groove.

“Soma Yellow” delivers generously. You will find yourself nodding your head to the consistent flow of a funk fueled pace. When the manifesting sound stays true to the bass heads, there is never a dull moment. Allow yourself to be enthralled by these entrancing effects, and don’t be shocked if goosebumps emerge—electro connoisseurs will surely agree.

The next track, “Soma Orange,” can be described as ruthless for its dominant force of heavily saturated bass and electro goodness. This track continues to gain momentum and is an auditory playground for its razor-sharp and expansive melodious material. This track is unmatched and turns into an aural playground for its razor-sharp spacious uptempo elements.

“Soma Red” hits the sweet spot for its compelling danceable energy. I would say that this is the magnum opus on the EP—an absolutely outstanding atmosphere of electro sophistication.
