LectrO cOd_E :: Savidge Machine EP (Woodwork)

Louisiana-based LectrO cOd_E, one of our favorite heavyweight electro musicians, continues to exploit raw bass, breaks, and bleeps.

Obliterating bass and beats to the nth degree

Louisiana-based LectrO cOd_E, one of our favorite heavyweight electro musicians, continues to exploit raw bass, breaks, and bleeps. His style cruises comfortably with high production levels, fierce rhythms, and melodic strands backed by robotic grooves. Savidge Machine delivers five original cuts and a Pablo Splice remix to round it off.

The mechanical low-end rumble and powerful rhythms are in full force right at the onset with the title track and its slithering pulse, glitch, and synth-blasted acrobatics. The momentum simply continues with “Deep” and its moody electro shifts which also dips into melodic swelling stabs. Watch your bass bins. The more clinical tempo of “Calkachu” chisels through the undergrowth as darker structures emanate on “LectrO Maniac” providing just enough roughened funk to keep us fully engaged. LectrO cOd_E sets his machines on stun mode—”Modulated” gives us massively blistered breaks that simply don’t let up as Pablo Splice remixes it with additional robotic blips’n bleeps, vocoder lyrical slices, and heavier tempos. A powerful EP from the Woodwork crew and another example of an artist creating what he does best—obliterating bass and beats to the nth degree.
