The emotional resonances of this album would seem to be marred by writing a review that cannot, by its very nature, encompass the fluxing changes of musical flow and depth captured on 13. Just listen to it and be swept into a world that’s always changing, fates of people and nations rising and falling. This is something we should be unconcerned about, and instead offer our trust, care and love back to the world.
If you, like me, may have been struggling to keep up with all the labels and artists you follow throughout the year, then compilations like Past/Present may come as some sort of godsend. Highlighting just about anything that Past Inside the Present have been pumping out in 2024, this compilation spans a lengthy three hours and showcases all the various shades of ambience that PITP specialize in.

Whether it’s the soulful nature of his vocal samples, or the lush and downtempo beats that give it all a skeleton to cascade off of, or the exquisite synthetic textures throughout, Bvdub has found his vein of gold and continues to mine it without relent.
Reshape is a collection of remixed tracks forming an engaging and soothing collection of works. With sources taken from various releases over the last 15 years.
Like Blade Runner directed by Ridley Scott, bvdub’s Leaving alludes to the end of a person’s life. The music uses a dark-ambient approach to bring the listener to this point in the present.
A big emotive expression, experiencing and surviving the process of painfully breaking free of the past by extreme means, somehow always staying calm and quietly passionate.
