On this two-tracker for Adepta Editions, Yaporigami (aka Yu Miyashita), a seasoned sound sculptor, wraps distressed melodic landscapes with such strongly engulfing electronic structures that decompose before our very eyes. The introspective opener “101 Eyes Of You” thoroughly develops these structures as it explores classic IDM reflections (reference: Arovane, Bauri, Bola, Phonem, and Proem) with additional jagged edges. A bit more rushed, “Last 100th Note” creates a massive soundscape of broken beats and bass with its occasional breaks and braindance vibe that go on for miles. In the end, AE-10 EP is a sharp eight-minute IDM eclipse that, if you’re not paying attention, wisps past too quickly. An ideal pair of downtempo and contemplative tracks.
