uncle nofun :: Attika EP (Self Released)

An impacted extended player that draws the listener into its thick wall of unusually compelling noise.

Stretched and pulled farther than before

uncle nofun (aka Nathan Perry, previously operating under the NNYz? moniker) reveals a slight tangent to his otherwise dark audio passages of previous releases. Sure, disheveled ambient and noise infusions are present on Attika, yet there’s something additionally textural here; stretched and pulled farther than before. “Release” and “Terrain” reveal scraping and elongated metallic noises that could stretch infinitely as the title track loosens its audible granulation for lighter echoes and brooding shadows. These obscured recordings all seem to coalesce on “Home” with its delicate bristles and plink plonk melodic charm that only lasts just over 120 seconds and provides just enough momentum to keep us astutely tuned in. An impacted extended player that draws the listener into its thick wall of unusually compelling noise.
