Though Early on 2004-2008 may feel eclectic and perhaps disjointed at times, it beautifully showcases Ossa’s distinctive hardware-driven style and impressive range that most artists dare not traverse.
Distinctive hardware-driven style
Kaiton Slusher (aka Ossa) offers a collection of previously unreleased tracks in his six-piece suite, Early on 2004-2008. The EP kicks off with the swirling synth-driven beauty of “DayDReamLOOp,” slowly drawing us in. Then, the energetic pixelated funk and crunchy breaks of “JAMSession PART’s 1 & 2” and “My Kinda Pancakes” take us on a nostalgic trip back in time while “Polyend44” dips into old-school splintered techno. As the tracks unfold, we’re immersed in acid-drenched soundscapes and mechanical rhythms, with the EP’s standout track, “Buzzzzzed,” closing the journey. This final piece captivates with its mysterious synthesizer squelches, blissful bleeps, and a rich, layered atmosphere that invites repeat listens. Though Early on 2004-2008 may feel eclectic and perhaps disjointed at times, it beautifully showcases Ossa’s distinctive hardware-driven style and impressive range that most artists dare not traverse.
