Ossa :: Exit Language Translator (Schematic Music Co.)

Exit Language Translator finds itself standing alone as a beacon for others to locate; its mysterious yet cleverly soft distortions and vintage soundscapes are both surreal and serendipitous.

A dozen gauzy and translucent pieces

The modular fizz-fuzz acrobatics and synthesizer streams on Exit Language Translator, released in October 2022, sees sonic-alchemist Kaiton Slusher (aka Ossa) deliver a dozen gauzy and translucent pieces with an adjoined and texturally-tense collaboration with Chad Mossholder & Wake, and a bonus closing piece reworked by Koala that allows the album to simply drift into The Milky Way. Kaleidoscopic melodic strands and floating voices, samples, and brushed sound bytes create exquisite glitch-IDM flutter for the mind. Each audible slice of life casts analogous ambient shifts as Ossa maneuvers lucid sound sources and infuses them with otherworldly tones and drones. Nostalgic tunes and trips for stargazing nights and the soundtrack to a dynamic flickering Aurora Borealis, Exit Language Translator finds itself standing alone as a beacon for others to locate; its mysterious yet cleverly soft distortions and vintage soundscapes are both surreal and serendipitous, as if to burry themselves into the subconscious without our knowing. Yet another cascading album that is well-suited for general-purpose audio work.
