L-R :: The Rambler EP (Asking For Trouble)

L-R is the name for the sounds that have emerged from the collaboration of friends Simon Lynch (London Modular Alliance), Monoak (Freerotation) and Radioactive Man. Rooted in Drexciyan-type underwater electro landscapes, The Rambler is at the same time using really fresh new innovative sounds and adding a lot of subtle, more modern influences.

This is a great little EP, and an unexpected one for me at that! I haven’t heard anything from our pal Radioactive Man for awhile, I know he has had a lot of difficulties with gear and money and just about everything else, but he seems to still be able to turn out top notch electro tracks. Another name I recognized on here was Simon Lynch of London Modular Alliance whose recent INTLBLK006 EP (International Black, 2018) I picked up on a whim (it had “London” and “modular” in the title—and seemed like a sure win) and absolutely loved.

The Rambler is a powerful extended player that simultaneously sounds 20 years old and brand new. It’s clearly very rooted in Drexciyan-type underwater electro landscapes, but is at the same time using really fresh new innovative sounds and adding a lot of subtle, more modern influences. All four tracks are unique and groovy with plenty of low-end for your popping and locking basement needs.

The Rambler Asking For Troubleis available on on February 15th, 2019.
