While Skam records have been known for releasing high-quality and sometimes (very) hard to acquire releases over the past several years, they’ve also found a few artists whose imagination veers into the unknown. And now, courtesy of Skam Records, The Consumers Research & Development (L.A./Chicago) label have picked up this duo who manage to create funky, obscure, bizarre, and sampled mayhem in the form of structured electricity that sometimes captures the ears, but usually evokes strange thoughts.

4/4 patterns are torn into sheared bits of Atari-influenced electronics, acute layers of melodies casually drift over the surface, and oddly shaped vocal-samples are cut’n pasted (V/VM style) in certain parts. Double Entendre also inserts a couple of rather humorous and short television samples alongside distorto electro/techno to create an interesting blend of oddity and curiosity for a duo whose reputation for the bizarre has always been the allure. This EP sized release and attractive looking record delivers nostalgic electro with an upbeat and creative spin on the often bland forms of techno.

Looking for a collectable piece of wax? –don’t turn this one up. Even with it’s abstract electro vibe, it still packs a punch and will get you groovin’ within minutes.
