Gavin Toomey (aka Vessel and an established Film Director and Producer) now exhibits his latest audio work as a self-released EP titled Boxer / Brawler. A definitive, if not delicate balance of electrical bits is on offer from scrumptious snips and synthesizer snaps of “VL-Tone” to the delectable downtrodden groove featured on “Say it Now.” There is an apparent genre ebb and flow that is easily absorbed within these sonic windows. The title track—drenched in ambient synth formation—exudes analog waves that are both emotive and surreal in display. Focused on a contagious soundtrack motif, Gavin certainly taps into unknown galaxies. “Anon” delivers a dreamlike extraction filled to the brim with crunchy clicks and serene melodic moments almost intentionally moving about as a lullaby for late night reading.
