Experimental Electronic Music
Celebrating the opportunities to perform with vintage electronic music technology, not for dance, not for sleep, just for the art of listening, Barbican is a new album by Wil Bolton. The project draws inspiration from the Brutalist architecture and cultural ecosystem of London’s Barbican Estate and Art Centre and is performed on period electronica.
Rusted in the Salt Air is a deeply atmospheric sonic journey that blends natural field recordings from the windswept Suffolk coast with lush, slow-burning electronic textures created using vintage synthesizers and spring reverb. Inspired by the haunting landscapes of Orford Ness and the literary reflections in Sebald’s Rings of Saturn, the album evokes themes of decay, memory, and transformation through immersive soundscapes rich with birdsong, wave wash, and ghostly drones.
These lush soundscapes will easily seduce listeners in search of moments of calm meditative states. Another healing ambient journey which conveys a sense of spatial dislocation and inner quietude with angelic and autumnal tone colors.
