After covering several hundred releases in 2022, many notables—including links to their respective Igloo reviews or release pages—are cataloged here. As usual, there are no winners or runners-up as the lists are alphabetized by artist and selected tracks are featured on our Soundcloud playlist.
For the slew of strong releases that come our way from Touched left, right, and center, it’s easy to forget that the label has its roots in the compilation and that it’s something they’re incredibly good at.
Soutien Gorge combine the playfulness and innocence of Plone, with the carefully arranged moods of ISAN, and vocal samples that wouldn’t sound out of place on a Wevie Stonder album.
Everything on this release is easy to put on again and again, with so much going on it’s virtually impossible to take it all in during one sitting. Careful which track you choose to repeat though as you could easily lose your week to this one.
Love Kamikaze presents an incredibly continuous and flowing album that drums up much of, if not more, of the tender qualities that I have grown to expect from his music.
Dagur delivers tonnes of warmth, melodies and evocative percussion that when working on concert take the listener to places less known.
If you like your IDM/electronica on the more experimental edge, and free to roam across any borders into other musical domains then this release is definitely for you.
Netherlands-based exm joins forces again with UK-based Mitoma and the results are nothing short of astounding.
Weldroid’s soothing and benchmark soundscapes on Portal are as relaxed as can be; a welcomed retreat we were not expecting.
