The agitated, menacing tripped out sound sculptures of Survival seem to invite the listener to enter a vast post-industrial dystopian universe dominated by machines and technological excess.
Snowbeasts is the project of Rob Galbraith (from Component netlabel) and Elizabeth Virosa. We already had plenty occasions to write about this challenging post-techno doom ambient duet, the production never ceases to surprise us thanks to constantly innovative and striking ideas which can easily seduce fans of hardcore and more experimental electronic genres. If I’m not mistaken Survival appears to be their third album to be published on the French-based indie label M-Tronic. Globally, Snowbeasts carries on the path ever-explored in their previous releases with a serious emphasis on breakbeat-downtempo sequences, merged into a very cinematic and haunting-creepy mood. The agitated, menacing tripped out sound sculptures of Survival seem to invite the listener to enter a vast post-industrial dystopian universe dominated by machines and technological excess. This new album is a furiously hypnotic post-apocalyptical soundtrack dealing with the power of the machine and its neo-primitive reaction / response. In brief, it’s a wild-cyber electronic assaultive album that is recommended for fans of old school EBM and industrial techno/synthpop music.
Survival is available on M-Tronic (April 2018).
