Sleep Clinic :: Talus (Errorgrid)

Packed full of dense overlapping rhythms that they begin instead to bleed together into a wall of sound.

A gritty, dense, and futuristic industrial wasteland

The Black Dog once coined the phrase “Ambience With Teeth”—and such a description never fit better for this gritty, dense, futuristic industrial wasteland, not unlike how one might imagine “Dog Solitude.” Packed full of dense overlapping rhythms that they begin instead to bleed together into a wall of sound reminiscent of Autechre’s “feed1.” You can either step back and gently bob along with the junkyard rhythms of some future factory gone awry or dig in and follow each erratic looping beat as it makes its unique orbit through each track. Somewhere on the scale between Autechre and Russell Haswell, this is not entirely dark, maybe even a relaxing journey, and too abstract to let any of those pesky real-world vibes intrude.
