For those that recall the scorched electronic beauty of Tympanik Audio’s roster, or fans of M-Tronic, Hymen, and HANDS—Errorgrid has set the stage for electronic mayhem with its core buried just below the surface and bordered by a charcoal grey exterior, their cover artwork signature.
Deeper in the trenches of dark-edged electronics
Back with the fury of several roller coasters running parallel, Errorgrid continues to expand their catalog and embed themselves deeper in the trenches of dark-edged electronics. Their “unapologetic exploration” is in full force on The Dodeka Remixes featuring label head NUNDALE‘s original and remixes by fellow cohorts Tom Hall, Sleep Clinic, Dfaniks, TL3SS and Snakes Of Russia.
An explosive trek through post-industrial elements and glitchy extrusions, NUNDALE’s original mix is rugged, robust and riveting on its own. Sleep Clinic’s rendition maintains the punchy beatwork yet smothers it with low flying echoes as Tom Hall simply shatters the original into several pieces, slowly expanding and unfolding into a billowing electrical fire. Dfaniks takes the spotlight with articulated breaks and a heart wrenching melodic strain midway through that doesn’t let go—its gritty glitch, bass, and scraping metallic sheets are mind bending. Snakes Of Russia takes a more subdued and dubbed-out trajectory where broken drums and harsher industrial slabs are elevated as TL3SS crunches the hardened mechanical outer shell of the original and strips everything down—a cavernous void of technoid jabs and all-around dark looming shadows.
