Errorgrid have a tight grip on the darker edges of electronic music. Reminiscent of the sharp post-industrial ice sheets that defunct imprints like Tympanik Audio and Ad Noiseam labels once inhabited as well as similar outfits like Component, Hymen/Ant-Zen, HANDS/TRUST and M-Tronic—Errorgrid continue to pull together to unveil swaths of broken bass, breaks, and scorched electronic sludge. Their newly minted Gridworks 1: Tension//Release compilation series broadens the horizon with experimental contusions ranging from dark ambient and power noise tropes (tension) and acrobatic drum infested fractures (release).
