A magnetizing audible couplet

Not surprisingly, this sold out transparent 8″ vinyl release by the prolific Serge Geyzel is simply baffling and the digital download should satisfy those that missed out on this tangible two-piece suite. AE – O1 sees Geyzel opening a new account with Adepta Editions—a Barcelona-based imprint that will focus on movement-centered electrical rhythms. Here we find two tracks spread across nine minutes and the sonic impact is instantaneous. Slightly more melodic and venturing into bubbly synthesizer strands—compared to his other (recent) electro outings—opener “Quick Time Traveller” is a brittle, bumpy, and bustling track merging harmonic echoes and ambient veils surrounded by crunchy beatwork. At times dipping into darker channels, this opening piece ultimately exposes a positive energy. “Promises” maintains its drum throttle, bass finagling groove, and loosened rhythms bouncing at all angles—a laid-back symphony and a slightly chilled mood that glistens start to finish. A magnetizing audible couplet that takes Serge Geyzel into more relaxed landscape and allows Adepta Editions to flex its burgeoning roster of talent.
