These five selections shake and shimmy through downtempo layers with a pseudo-lounge cadence.
Rico Casazza ventures off the beaten path
We fully agree with the press notes on this one, described as “five lush electro cuts brimming with melody and funk, leaning discreetly into a pop aesthetic.” Prague-based Rico Casazza (aka Federico Casazza) has been at it for several years, carefully weaving his catalog, and delving into various electronic sub-genres with relative ease. These cascading, easy-flowing pieces, dip and dive through electro, acid, glitch, and R&B (ref. the title track)—all rhythm-centered corridors. Nothing too dark here, and with a cohesive pop sensibility rooted in the underground, Rico Casazza ventures off the beaten path. While this EP doesn’t quite grab us as previous ones have, these five selections shake and shimmy through downtempo layers with a pseudo-lounge cadence.
