Rico Casazza & CPSL :: Higher Form EP (Dionysian Mysteries)

Taking elements of classic techno / acid tropes and merging with heavy breaks, bass and 90s era rave sessions, Higher Form does just want it sets out to do—to create a movement.

Shimmying its way through darker rhythmic spaces and classic robotic electro

An electro and IDM combined extended player from London-based Rico Casazza collaborating with Russian producer CPSL (aka Maria Veretennikova) from Moscow. Here we find a half dozen tracks bend and twist in emotively powerful realms. Taking elements of classic techno / acid tropes and merging with heavy breaks, bass and 90s era rave sessions, Higher Form does just want it sets out to do—to create a movement. This movement is packed with positive energetic forces. Broken beats, skittering drill’n bass and morphing basslines segue into and out of focus at a rapid pace. The large soundspace that Rico Casazza and CPSL inhabit is a highlight worth noting and the remixes by Bolam, Weith, and Detach manage to capture even more of the duos overflowing electo and breakbeat sub-structures. Overall a high-octane release that shimmies its way through darker rhythmic spaces and classic robotic electro slivers.
