Philippe Neau is a sound artist with a vast catalog of digital releases mostly available from Mahorka but l discovered his work with Constructions in collaboration with Lutz Thuns. He teamed up with a great number of artists as in the recommended Enfoui, Incognito with Philippe Lamy for a subtle, strangely altered mind travel through memory sounds, tense then prepared piano atmospherics, elastic glitch textures and micro-processed musique concrète signals.

The listener follows a sensitive path where presence and disappearance are delicately intertwined. Field recordings dominate—occasionally disruptive or erratic, but more often drawing the listener into a contemplative eeriness. Singing birds, altered voices, distant sounds, raindrops, and footsteps on a sea of leaves evoke a vivid sense of space, mystery, and nostalgia—shaped in part by the listener’s emotional state during the experience.
All in all hORs sOLs is a collection of spontaneous moving collages that lead the listener to a sensient and existential sound map. Something quite close to the most evocative albums of field recordings offered by Flaming Pines or forms of minutiae.
