A mysteriously funky traverse across alien landscapes, MVW delivers disturbingly creative and lively electronic music that defies categorization. Crossing the proverbial wires between Squarepusher’s jazz-tinges with early glitch-IDM Skam artists Alder And Elius and Team Doyobi.

A mysteriously funky traverse across alien landscapes

Kicking off with “Ruth,” the multi-talented audio shapeshifter known as Michael Valentine West explores synthesized bliss with two and a half minutes of stretch ambient notes and acoustic highlights. The World Is A Half Eaten Sandwich is an eight track release that sparks infinite sound spectrums filled with off-kilter instruments and synthesized contours.

The title-track is a fractured downtempo jazz extract that takes on a life of its own. Crafting left of center electronics with an electroacoustic tinge and broken rhythmic layers, “Nonex In Zaire” rattles and pulses in its own light where hundreds of found sounds converge into a symbiosis of organic matter. “Mikimo” offers Squarepusher-styled jazzy-breaks and vocal slivers that are utterly absorbing. Delving into abstract electronic hues, The World Is A Half Eaten Sandwich manages to expose the artists’ knack for arcane rhythms and psychedelic shapes that bend and contort along the way. Closing with “People Are Ugly,” you’ll hear fragmented vocal bits, crunched beats and scattershot phasers firing from all angles.

A mysteriously funky traverse across alien landscapes, MVW delivers disturbingly creative and lively electronic music that defies categorization. Crossing the proverbial wires between the abovementioned jazz-tinges of Squarepusher with early glitch-IDM Skam artists Alder And Elius and Team Doyobi.
