For fans of Monolake, Pole, Robert Lippok and L’Usine, ITSU treads a fine line between familiar (and distant) melodic bytes and meticulously crafted beat programming that encapsulates the raw and energy-packed nature of experimental electronic music.

Energy-packed experimental electronic music

Detroit Underground continues to expand their roster, however, ITSU (aka Moscow-based Artyom Markaryan) isn’t new to the experimental electronic scene. Having had a previous release on DetUnd and a handful of others, his distinctive use of analog synthesizers, eroded textures and subtle clicks’n cuts allows HAR1somehow tied to molecular biology, indeed—to enrapture the listener. Here we find ITSU in full form, from clinical techno strands to subdued glitch and acrobatic rhythms to ambient-dub moments that could go on forever. For fans of Monolake, Pole, Robert Lippok and L’Usine, ITSU treads a fine line between familiar (and distant) melodic bytes and meticulously crafted beat programming that encapsulates the raw and energy-packed nature of experimental electronic music.
