The musical tendencies approach electronic space music, most of time hauntingly cinematic and hypnotically pulsating.
iNDEX04 is an outstanding collection of previous DiN sound materials available on releases such as Frontiers, Slide, Dervish (…). It features some of the most significant works of Ian Boody’s recent period, completed by several compositions in collaboration with Erik Wøllo, Markus Reuter, Bernhard Wöstheinrich or associated to various collective projects. The musical tendencies approach electronic space music, most of time hauntingly cinematic and hypnotically pulsating. The whole style is focused on long improvisations which provide dynamic textures, a wide range of flexuous sound waves, sustained synth chords, intense rhythmical arpeggios and colorful electronic grooves. This album includes a great diversity of space out minimal synth ambiences covered by definitely memorable dreamlike synth melodies. iNDEX04 alternates trance out-proggy spiraling electronica (similar to Tangerine Dream’s virgin era) to peacefully binaural drone sequences in a mantra like aesthetic sound ritualism and expanded sci-fi soundtracky sonorities with a discreet 80s retro-ish flavor (John Carpenter, Fabio Frizzi, Gaston Borreani…). iNDEX04 offers constantly mobile, hybrid spacey electronic epics where the meditative timbral drones meet punchy-energetic sci-fi electronic moves. Electronic fascination and vital sound experiences which authorize a relationship between the traditional archetypes of Kosmische musik and a super minimal retro futuristic pop-electronica conceived for advanced equipments. Totally recommended for an introduction to the unique corpus of drone music and spaced out synthedelica efforts released on DiN.
