Francis Gri & Toàn :: Le tissage des rêves (Self Released)

Beautifully soothing, diaphanous, and inviting. This album can seduce anyone into touchingly evocative soundscapes for lonesome moments in introspection.

Owner of the indie label Krysalisound and skillfully inspiring sound artist Francis Gri offers here a new exquisite assemblage of gitch-esque electronics and acoustic tinged ambient reveries. This album is a collaborative effort with the project Toàn (field recording / minimal ambient music project who published noticeable efforts on a myriad of DIY labels for passionate listeners of smooth modern electronica. The album embraces a splendidly ethereal and heart-breathing musical vibe where semi-improvised detached piano notes meet languid caressing chords, micro-sonic noises, and silky drone scintillations. It is constantly evocative, subtly moving, and day-dreaming (as suggested by titles of tracks).

The fragmented and beautifully rolling piano tones are punctuated by a treated musique concrète sounds to implement impact of the album. A very detailed and meticulously craft effort which can sum up quite well the incarnation of microtonal dream ambient. Le tissage des rêves is a successful and quite remarkable symbiosis between the two musicians involved in the album.

Recommended for fans of discreet music and meditative home listening experience proposed by semi-classical ambient artisan explorers such as Taylor Deupree, Somni451, Clem Leek, Bing & Ruth, Ouvala, The Humble Bee, and Nodfeld; but also for fans of contemporary experimental minimalism, notably an album such as Lazy Afternoon Among the Crocodiles by Terry Riley. Beautifully soothing, diaphanous, and inviting. This album can seduce anyone into touchingly evocative soundscapes for lonesome moments in introspection.
