Francis Gri :: Argine (Krysalisound)

Recommended listening experience for those into vaporous, slippery then semiclassical ambient sceneries.

Playing with a sense of ethereal loneliness

Krysalisound is an Italian based indie label which embraces a vast array of micro-genres with a rooted attraction for ambient drift-scapes and electro-acoustic researches. The musical ideal and values are not so far from an other Italian one (Midira Records) but with more emphasize on the soothing-meditative emotional scope. Owner of the label but also sentient sound designer Francis M. Gri provides here a new opus entirely devoted to meandering textures, shifting at ease from impressionistic ambient minimalism to wintry mellow droning vibes.

The result is unteleogical, colorfully vibrant and aerial, playing with a sense of ethereal loneliness. Manipulated-processed acoustic lines (randomly from guitar, piano) pleasantly interact with concrete objects, found sounds (obtained and morphed from green field recordings), and almost new-age suspended atmospheric synth-scapes.

Fans of Iasos, Alio Die, Steve Tibbet (reference Northern Song), Christopher Berg, Greg Haines (without the tragic-tinged dimension), Christopher Hipgrave and Vidna Obmana at his most relaxing, enveloping meditative moments will find here an interesting album to consider. Recommended listening experience for those into vaporous, slippery then semiclassical ambient sceneries.
