Dead Melodies :: The Masterplan (Cryo Chamber)

Sentient soundscapes are mainly built around evanescent drones, filtered bass frequencies, naturally waving undulations, occasional discreet electronic pulses, and processed micro sounds to give the ensemble a dense, wistful and nostalgic feeling.

Droning with sneakily, sparse melodies

Discovered a few years ago (Legend of the Wood review) Dead Melodies is one regular dark and soothing ambient project signed to indie electronic-tinged cinematic music label Cryo Chamber.

This new collection of pieces expresses an intimate and vast voyage to a lost universe, a decaying urbanized topography extracted from a post-industrial deluge. The music is never obtrusive, always rumbling, droning with sneakily, sparse melodies obtained by the e-guitar and instrumental schemas. This is one vividly imaginative, gauzy and tenebrous (but not excessively menacing) ambient odyssey colored in grey and subtly moving in vast sonic spaces.

Due The Masterplan‘s intrinsic dynamics and engaged compositional dimension, the album contains a little more than only environmental ambient music for neutral listening experiences. Those sentient soundscapes are mainly built around evanescent drones, filtered bass frequencies, naturally waving undulations, occasional discreet electronic pulses, and processed micro sounds to give the ensemble a dense, wistful and nostalgic feeling. A quite recommended album for followers of Cryo Chamber productions.

The Masterplan is available on Cryo Chamber.
