A dark inward journey
Are you ready for a dark inward journey? Memento by Dead Melodies is a darker soundscape that is in no hurry. Artist, Tom Moore helps us explore that static we see when we close our eyes. This record dives deep into a dreamscape of long dark tones and, like a psychedelic experience, will only bring up what the listener already has inside of them. Not until track 4, “Eyes of the Sun,” do I feel the need to redirect my awareness. The pulsing of the synth giving way again to softer tones of hope. The emotional ebbs and flows are deliberate with guitar and piano speaking to our unconsciousness. By the end of the record I am reminded that I am human; I will die, and it’s ok to be scared. I am not alone, even in the dark.
